I have been a member of the Timberlea-Prospect Liberal Association since January 2003 as Treasurer and Office Manager during campaigns. My duties are voluntary and include the complete set-up of the office during campaigns, banking, financial statements and reporting for the monthly meetings.
 

The campaign experience came soon after I joined as an election took place in July of 2003. Not only did I gain the experience of being the Treasurer and Office Manager but I had the opportunity to work with a great group of professionals and even though it was alot of hard work it was also very rewarding and lots of fun.

I joined the SS Atlantic Heritage Park Society volunteer team in January 2004 as their treasurer.  My duties are preparing their Financial Statements, banking, paying bills,  reporting and attending monthly meetings as well as participate in all of their fund raising and social events. We have a great team of members and I have enjoyed being part of this Society and its history of a very tragic event. 
 

I recommend this site as a worthwhile visit for both local people and tourists.  There is an Interpretation Centre which hosts numerous exhibits with interpretive panels, photos, display items and original artifacts from the SS Atlantic Wreck which sank on April 1, 1873.  The site also offers a spectacular view, boardwalk, gazebo and a monument site with guided walking tours available during the season.  The Park and Interpretation Centre is opened from May to October.  Their website is included on my links page for more information on the park.
