I have been the Treasurer for New Life Baptist Church since January 2009, first as an assistant treasurer and then taking over the position as Treasurer in January 2010. I am responsible for all the Financials, Reporting, Banking, Payroll on a weekly basis as well as reporting to the Church Elders on a monthly basis.

METRO PREGNANCY CLINIC

I volunteered for the Metro Pregnancy Clinic doing their bookkeeping and Financials Statements for 10 years and resigned December 2009 due to my workload. I was responsible for all of the bookkeeping including year end and provide support with the issuing of charitable receipts and any other necessary reporting as required by the board members for their monthly meetings. I also volunteered once a week at the Metro Pregnancy Centre office assisting them with their administration work for a period of the time.

TIMBERLEA-PROSPECT

I was a member of the Timberlea-Prospect Liberal Association during January 2003- 2004 as Treasurer and Office Manager during campaigns. My duties are voluntary and include the complete set-up of the office during campaigns, banking, financial statements and reporting for the monthly meetings.

The campaign experience came soon after I joined as an election took place in July of 2003. Not only did I gain the experience of being the Treasurer and Office Manager but I had the opportunity to work with a great group of professionals and even though it was a lot of hard work it was also very rewarding and lots of fun.

SS Atlantic Society

I joined the SS Atlantic Heritage Park Society volunteer team in January 2004 as their treasurer. My duties were preparing their Financial Statements, banking, paying bills, reporting and attending monthly meetings as well as participate in all of their fund raising and social events. We had a great team of members and I have enjoyed being part of this Society and its history of a very tragic event. I resigned as treasurer approx. 5 years ago due to the increase in my business.

I recommend this site as a worthwhile visit for both local people and tourists. There is an Interpretation Centre which hosts numerous exhibits with interpretive panels, photos, display items and original artifacts from the SS Atlantic Wreck which sank on April 1, 1873. The site also offers a spectacular view, boardwalk, gazebo and a monument site with guided walking tours available during the season. The Park and Interpretation Centre is opened from May to October.
