Sharon MacDonald has had a seasonal income tax and accounting business for the past 15 years and decided to take her business full time in January 2003. Sharon welcomes this change with open arms and looks forward to the challenges of being an entrepreneur.

She worked at Birks Jewellers for 16 years as Office Manager and then over the past eight years she worked at an investment firm full time while continuing her education. She completed the Canadian Securities Course in April of 1994 and then in 1997 she completed the Canadian Investment Manager that gave her the FCSI (Fellowship of the Canadian Securities Institution) designation. The achievement stands for commitment, expertise, ethics and leadership as is the most senior designation in Canada's financial services sector.  Ultimate hallmark of excellence in a financial career.  She continues to expand on her knowledge and skills and over the past 15 years Sharon has taken many income tax and accounting courses and most recently three Estate Planning courses. Sharon also carries her insurance and mutual fund license. This background compliments Sharon's Income Tax and Accounting business.

Sharon volunteers for the Timberlea-Prospect Liberal Association, SS Atlantic Society Heritage Park as well as The Halifax Metro Crisis Pregnancy Centre. She has lived in Whites Lake for the past 20 years and wants to expand her business through increased clients both individual and small business and increase other services such as computer training, complete office set ups, resume writing and typing.                           

I have been a member of the Centre for Women in Business since January 2003.
